They give such unique, organic kind of prints, some of them look like fossils! I've been wanting to try printing ferns since I st I've been wanting to try printing ferns since I started doing my leaf prints about a month ago, hoping it would pick up the lovely spore details on the back. It didn't disappoint! Thank you all for responding and helping me decide, it was super useful to chat about options with you! I'd say 95% of people said to keep them white, and I do agree that a dark colour would've made the whole piece look heavy, and it would lose the soft ethereal vibe it has... it did need something though! I went for a subtle bronze outline to define those crisp edges, and a very pale shadow of bronze to give them a touch of depth.... Opinions, please!! I've been working on this leaf Opinions, please!! I've been working on this leafy abstract piece and really can't decide if I should I paint the swifts, or leave them as they are? ๐Ÿค” I do quite like the white negative space it has at the moment, but it maybe looks a bit unfinished... If I do paint them, I'm torn between painting them in their realistic (quite dark) colours, or a solid colour (maybe gold?) Or even just outline them in blue, or gold... I usually gather a few of my favourite tools and markers in my chosen colours, and just let things flow โœจ๏ธ tracing shadows helps to keep everything feeling loose and free! I felt like these 4 shades went really well together, so I just went straight in and kept things quite loose and flowy...
